Scholarship Description:

The Johnson Brunetti Community Service Scholarship was developed to provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors, involved with Junior Achievement, who will be attending a Connecticut state college or university.

Each award will total $1,500 and the scholarship recipients, in a good faith, will be able to apply the funds in a manner that will support their education (tuition, room and board, books, meal programs, etc.).

The Johnson Brunetti Community Service Scholarship is funded by Johnson Brunetti Retirement & Investment Specialists, a wealth management firm based in Wethersfield, CT, with offices located throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. Johnson Brunetti has a strong presence within the community and passionately believes in helping those around them. They take great pride in knowing they can play a major role in bettering the lives of others and are committed to making a lasting footprint on the community.

To be considered for the Johnson Brunetti Community Service Scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
  • Students must be on track to graduate from a Connecticut high school with the Class of 2025, a GPA at or above 3.0, and had some involvement with Junior Achievement.

  • Students must have received acceptance to a Connecticut state college or university and must plan to enroll in said school for fall 2025 or spring 2026.
    • This criteria includes Connecticut state universities, Connecticut community colleges and the University of Connecticut (UConn), as well as its regional campuses.
All applicants must submit the completed application form below, along with the following documents and information attached by April 18, 2025 at 11:59pm.
  • Two reference letters from individuals who are not family members. Documents must include name of student, name of reference and reference’s relationship to the student in the header.

  • Student’s letter of acceptance to a Connecticut state college or university. Copies of acceptance letters that have been downloaded, screenshot, photographed, printed or scanned are acceptable, as long as they are legible and clearly indicate the student’s name and acceptance to the school.

  • Short essay—no more than 600 words—that describes your college and career plans and how you have made significant public service contributions to your community and will continue to make significant contributions to the community during your college years. Essay must be typed and include your name in the header.
