Retirement planning does not have to be complex; start by sitting down with a pen and piece of paper, think about what your dreams and goals are, and go from there. Once you establish your goals, you can then get down to the details. Bringing in a financial advisor is beneficial at this stage. A good financial advisor will help you determine if you can achieve your dreams by helping you uncover what your expenses will be.
There are four questions to ask when determining if you are ready to retire:
- How will I maintain health care?
- How much will I need for yearly expenses?
- What are my income sources?
- Am I emotionally ready to retire?
