Johnson Brunetti Visits Rocky Hill Veteran Home to Deliver Flowers to Local Veterans
On Tuesday, November 10th Johnson Brunetti partnered with Simsbury-based company Lucky You Flowers to honor our military members. Johnson Brunetti visited the Rocky Hill Veterans Home & Hospital to brighten things up for Veterans Day.
Joel Johnson, the managing partner of Johnson Brunetti, is the father of a Marine Corps Lieutenant.
Joel Johnson: “Think about it. If you were here at the Veteran’s Home as a veteran, you’re probably not getting as many visitors, if any. Anything that we can do to brighten up their day and to honor them for the service that they provide is extremely important to us.”
Two years running, this has become a tradition here in Rocky Hill. Over 220 bouquets of flowers were handed out to the veterans. The flower bouquets were made by florist Amy Schuster.
Amy Schuster: “To do something for the veterans today is truly our honor. To think of people who, particularly in a pandemic, might be feeling a little lonely and need to feel a little love. We’re honored to be doing it and I love it.”
Local Veteran: “I appreciate it. We all appreciate it. It hits home with me. I’m a Vietnam vet and I lost my oldest brother in 69 Vietnam.”
Tom Saadi, Commissioner, CT Department of Veteran Affairs: “Our residents here and our veteran patients, particularly during a time of the pandemic, knowing that people are out there who care for them, remember them, and provide even a small gesture like this goes a long way.”
There are not enough thank you’s to be said, but it’s a way to show our immense appreciation for their service and the sacrifices that they made for everyone in this country.
